Weekend Away - Part Two

Overall, Wesley is a pretty good traveler. He liked riding in the elevator and running through the long hallway of the hotel.

He also got to sleep in a big boy bed for the first time.

We visited the San Diego Zoo.

Right outside the zoo is a really cool train.

The weather was a bit chilly, but we took a ride anyway.

It went through a really neat tunnel!

Wesley's souvenir from the trip was a stuffed meerkat from the zoo. Here he is with his meerkat on the way back to LA~

Totally exhausted!!

Weekend Away - Part One

Last weekend we took a trip to San Diego. Wesley's favorite part of the trip by far was the Children's Museum (or, as he calls it, the Zeeum). He got to play dress up with a really cool hat (there are not two of him - he is looking into a mirror):

He built a tower of blocks. And then knocked it down:

He played musical instruments ~

He remodeled a "rain house"

And guess what -- there was a bounce house!

And guess what else -- he still only knows how to fall down!

Stay tuned for more San Diego Adventures!

Bounce House!

Wesley had his first bounce house experience this weekend. We were nervous that he would be too afraid to go in. Well, we were wrong! He went in and loved it!!

He does not really have the jumping part down yet ....

...but he has the falling part mastered!

He had a blast and took a really good nap that afternoon (hooray!).

Paper Towel Roll Wars

Xena has always been a fan of paper towel rolls. Our friends Shannon and Rob know this and bring her some whenever they visit. Last weekend, they brought a bunch.

Little did they know that Wesley also has taken a liking to empty paper towel rolls.

It has led to some real battles.

Poor Xena, her life will never be the same!

I tried...

... to tell him that the ball is too big for the hoop and the hoop is a little tall for him. But he refuses to believe me.

We have started preparations for summer. Wesley got new sunglasses. Look how cool he is ~

Drivin'

Wesley's new obsession is driving. Last week we went to the mall and I coughed up the 5 bucks to rent the car stroller so he could drive around the mall. He had a blast.

He also likes to drive the mechanical taxi at the mall:

What he really loves, however, is sitting in daddy's seat in the minivan before getting strapped into his car seat:

Not sure...

...what title to give this or even how to describe it. He still loves mommy's shoes!

Super Slide!

Last weekend we found a new park. It had the biggest slide Wesley has ever seen:

He just had to try it. So he climbed up....

... and up.

Here he is on his way down --

Not sure how we ended up with his feel in the air like that.

But he righted himself in the end. Hooray!

Travel Town!

The family took a trip to Griffith Park's Travel Town, a cool train museum. Look how big the trains are!

They also have a train you can ride around the train yard. Wesley liked the train ride.

He also liked waving to others as they rode by.

New vacuum

While mommy has been working, daddy has been spoiling Wesley with new toys. Here is a new favorite.

Too bad it does not actually work.

Movin' Up

Wesley still loves hanging out in Xena's crate (despite mommy's pleas). Now that he can climb, he has found a new place to hang out....on Xena's crate!

Boots!

Wesley's fascination with shoes is no secret. He has moved on to mommy's boots.

In effort to save his ankles, mommy bought him his own boots.

He loves them!
