Growing Up

A new item has been added to Wesley's routine -- a stool to help him reach the sink for hand washing!

An Artist in the Making

Wesley received a special delivery this week.



He was excited, but not really sure what to make of it.


He helped daddy build it.


And then he got to start creating!

Last week, a store clerk gave Wesley a balloon filled with helium.


Wesley and Xena had a lot of fun playing with it.


Until the helium took over...



... forcing Wesley to learn the word "help."

Music Man

Wesley loves music. Tonight he made some of his own, beating on a tambourine with a toy reflex hammer from his toy doctor kit. Take a listen ~

The end of an Era

Since the day Wesley became mobile, we have had a play yard in our living room. This weekend, we took it down ~




and got our living room back.



What would make us do this, you ask, as it was the perfect place for time outs when Wesley gets into trouble?? Take a look:--



we learned that he did not really mind being in there, and could get in and out on his own, making it basically useless.

The Beach By Request

Today on our way to the store, Wesley had a request - from the back of the van, we kept hearing "beach." Well, it was 80 degrees and sunny, so after our shopping trip, we took a spontaneous trip to the beach as requested by Wesley. When we got there, he was thrilled! Someone had dug a hole (one of his favorite things!), so he decided to pick up some rocks ...



... and run them over to the hole and throw them in.



He did this over and over for about 20 minutes. Very fun!

Animals, Vacuum and Cooking Utensils

Today I decided to quiz Wesley on his knowledge of animal sounds. Being the ultimate multi-tasker like his mommy, he was playing with the vacuum and a spatula at the same time:

Big Boy Hat

This weekend, we got Wesley a new big boy hat, since he grew out of this last one.

He really likes it!

What's Cookin'

Wesley has really taken an interest in cooking. This weekend, he turned a delivery box into a stove and had a blast!

New Year's Day Trip to the Zoo

One of the benefits of living in Southern California is that you can go to the zoo on New Year's Day! Here is Wesley in the car on the way there, very excited --



Unlike his first trip to the zoo a few months ago, Wesley was really interested in the animals this time.



We made a quick stop at the petting zoo to get warmed up.



Then we found a bunny to pet.



Then we got interactive and hung out in a prairie dog hole!



By the way, a month ago we could not get him to wear a hat - now he won't take it off!!

Learning Letters

Wesley has started learning letters. We bought him letter magnets for the refrigerator. Check it out!
